Young Love was a real DC Comics series that ran through the 1950s and 60s.

Rick Flag Sr joined the military when he was 18 years old.

Him and his ex-wife were 18 years old when she gave birth to their son, Rick Flag Jr.

It’s confirmed that Rick Flag Jr died in Corto Maltese.

Episode 2 directly quotes Mary Shelley’s original Frankenstein book.

“Shall each man, find a wife for his bosom, and each beast have his mate, and I be alone?”

In the book, The Bride is never born. Victor discards her body parts out of fear.

The Bride was born in 1831.

Frankenstein has been stalking her for nearly 200 years since then, all across the world.

Ultra Bunny appears on Frankenstein’s shirt in 1991.

He is an original character that’s appeared in-universe on Rick Flag’s t-shirt, as well as in Peacemaker with the same slogan.

Shaggy from Scooby Doo appears in the flashback sequence where Frankenstein is stalking The Bride.

Pokolistan is a fictional country that has previously appeared in DC Comics. During the President Luthor storyline of the early 2000s, Pokolistan was a fragment of the broken-up Czech Republic. It is often war-torn, and had made secret political deals with Luthor.
