Set Photos from the filming of Peacemaker Season 2 have revealed potential spoilers for the show.
The set photo shows a painted mural of Peacemaker, White Dragon (his father), and an unknown character. Many have speculated that the third unknown character is Peacemaker’s brother. Though his brother died as a child in the first season, some fans think the new DCU may change the canon.
Another fact that points to the past being changed that Peacemaker’s suit is different in the mural. His emblem is facing the opposite direction—up instead of down. The direction of the dove of Peace facing down is something Season 1 made a big point of. Peacemaker said he only ever draws the dove facing down, and believes it’s bad luck or ineffective facing upward. Could the mural be depicting an alternate version of Peacemaker—since we know this one would never have his emblem facing up?
What’s more, the first official teaser for Peacemaker Season 2 shows that his suit is the same as Season 1 — with the dove facing down. Therefore, this mural is probably depicting an alternate version of Peacemaker.
Finally, James Gunn has stated online that he “has a way in” to Peacemaker Season 2. He stated this in response to a fan asking whether it will be confusing moving from Season 1 set in the DCEU, to Season 2 being in the DCU. Perhaps Peacemaker Season 2. will actually explain the change in universe. It would be interesting to see an explanation for how and why the canon has changed — like how Flashpoint changed some events in the New 52.
