Peacemaker Season 2 Release Date Announced

Max has announced that Peacemaker Season 2 will officially release sometime in August 2025. An exact release date has not been announced yet.

The first teaser was released this week as part of a the 2025 sizzle reel for new shows on Max.

The August release date will see it debut just one month after Superman hits theatres. Superman is the first-live action project in James Gunn’s new DCU. The first ever project is Creature Commandos, the animated show releasing on Max this December 5th.

Peacemaker Season 2 is confirmed to have eight episodes. A weekly release schedule means the finale could air as late as mid-October.

The next TV show from DC Studios to release after Peacemaker has not been confirmed. However, Lanterns is set to start filming in 2025, indicating it could be set for an early 2026 release.

The next show in line would be Waller, as it already has writers hired and a returning cast. Waller was initially set to release before Peacemaker Season 2, but the writing process got delayed during the Hollywood strikes. Peacemaker Season 2 was finished first, and got moved up to film and release first.

It remains to be seen whether that impacted the interconnected story that will be told across the shows. Both Peacemaker and Waller are set in the DCU, and feature common characters as James Gunn confirmed that the waller show will feature “members of Team Peacemaker” on a mission with Amanda Waller. Before then, Viola Davis is set to return as Amanda Waller in the animated series Creature Commandos.
