In the comics, Bialya is a Middle Eastern country. Captain Atom was once stationed there, and Black Adam was manipulated into attacking it once.
The abusive men are both Metahumans with lightning powers.
James Gunn recently stated that Metahumans are already common in the DCU. By the time of the Superman movie, they are “becoming more of a problem”.
A security guard is shown reading a dirty magazine called “Metasleaze”.
The models are seen wearing outfits mimicking famous Metahumans.
The episode title is “Priyatel Skelet”, which is the nickname the little girl calls Doctor Phosphorus.
It means “Friendly Skeleton” in Bulgarian.
Batman makes his DCU debut!
We only see a silhouette.
James Gunn stated in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes that he only wanted to show a silhouette to avoid committing to a final suit design.
James Gunn says that this appearance is “the DCU Batman”, hinting it’s a different version of the character.
He also says that “Batman already exists in this universe. He’s an important part of this universe, and he has an impact on it.”
James Gunn also stated what to expect for future DCU Batman appearances:
“He’s one of my favourite characters. We’re gonna do great things with him. I can’t wait for people to see more of him, along with Superman. And together!”
