Everything DC Studios Revealed at CinemaCon 2026

As part of the Warner Bros showcase at CinemaCon on Tuesday night, DC Studios presented some updates from its upcoming slate of movies to the audience in attendance.

DC Studios Co-CEO Peter Safran was joined on stage by DC stars Milly Alcock (Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in “SUPERGIRL”), and Jason Momoa (Lobo in “SUPERGIRL”), as well as the director of “SUPERGIRL”, Craig Gillespie. They screened some new footage of the film, gave updates on “MAN OF TOMORROW”, and  debuted the first trailer for “CLAYFACE”, the second film DC Studios is releasing in 2026.

Clayface News and Footage

Peter Safran presented the first logo and trailer for ‘CLAYFACE’, which is releasing in cinemas on 23rd October, 2026.

Reports from those who saw the first trailer say that it opens with Matt Hagen laying in a hospital bed, with his face bandaged, and only his eyes visible. Someone attacks him with a knife and pumps chemicals into him, giving him powers. Pre-accident flashbacks show his glamorous life as an actor, and it’s shown that he underwent a scientific procedure which turned into body into clay.

A montage then depicts his horrible transformation, with red skin, lips fused, and his hands morph into hammer-like shapes, mostly shown through shadows, as we see screaming people reacting to the horror. This is inter-spliced with footage of Matt sprinting past Gotham police cars, including potentially Gotham’s Boardwalk Circus (which was spotted in set photos). The teaser ends with Matt lying naked in a bathtub looking upward, dejected, he runs his hand over his face and smears his clay skin to the point it disappears into nothing. The whole trailer is set to a slowed down version of The Flaming Lips’ song “Do You Realize??”.

Jason Momoa (Lobo) rides onto the CinemaCon stage on Lobo’s spacehog motorbike from the upcoming DC Studios’ film ‘SUPERGIRL’.

Supergirl News and Footage

The main focus of DC Studios’ presentation this year was on their upcoming release, “SUPERGIRL”, which flies into cinemas on June 26th. Director Craig Gillespie was joined on stage by Milly Alcock (Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in ‘SUPERGIRL’), and Jason Momoa (Lobo in ‘SUPERGIRL’). Alcock was dressed in a designer Coco Chanel sweater with a Chanel logo styled in the colours of font of the Superman emblem on it, while Momoa wore his signature leather jacket and boots look as rode in on an actual motorcycle, Lobo’s spacehog that he rides in the Supergirl movie.

The team commented on what it was like making the film, with Gillespei sharing that Alcock trained every morning, often learning new stunts on the day of shooting. Alcock added that it was a lot of fun, and the end result is so cinematic that people will say “Thank f*ck I saw it in the cinema”.

They also screened exclusive new footage for the audience. A new scene was played that depicted fighting tech pirates who attack a space bus that she’s on Reports from those who saw the footage said that the interior of bus looks exactly like Bilquis Evely’s comic, filled with odd, exotic space creatures, many with blue skin who match the design of the comics, smoking alien hookah. In the scene, Kara is desperate, tired, and asking the bus driver to get closer to a yellow sun so that she can regain her powers. Kara wears a a yellow space suit in the scene but is ripped away and ejected into space, where she regenerates from a nearby yellow sun, and a huge fight ensues with her using her heat vision

Ruthye also looks more comic accurate in this scene, she’s hunting Krem herself, sitting on the bus next to odd alien creatures and arguing with Supergirl that she should help her A new trailer montage followed, with Kara’s face showing weakened powers and Kryptonite poisoning. As well as a new shot of Superman opening something up with upward POV of his face, potentially a flashback of him opening Supergirl’s pod on earth.

Man of Tomorrow Video Message

DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn was not in attendance at this year’s CinemaCon, and that’s because he’s already on set preparing for filming to start next week on his Superman sequel ‘MAN OF TOMORROW‘. Instead, Gunn sent an excited video message with his two lead stars David Corenswet (Superman) and Nicolas Hoult (Lex Luthor).

Corenswet saying in the video message, “Try saving the world with your sworn enemy”, while Nicholas Hoult highlighted, “a new villain and an unlikely alliance.” Gunn said he was excited to share the film, which starts shooting next week.

The Batman Part 2 Updates

Updates on Matt Reeves’ sequel, ‘THE BATMAN PART 2‘ were scarce, and that’s to say that there were no updates. It was however still included in the list of titles that WB flagged as part of their release schedule for 2027, so Batman fans can rest assured that the film is happening, with filming reportedly starting next month.
